Sheriff's New Collar

Friday 02/24/2006 2:34 PM

Back in January, me and the boys were walking at Lake Ella, a pond in the city with a little park and 0.6 mile sidewalk around it, when we wandered into the new digs for Suzy Q's Pet Boutique. It's about twice as big as the old place and we chuckled at the sign that read: YOU PEE ON IT, YOU BUY IT.

On the right-side of the shop, near the back corner, I found the most appropriate collar ever for the black and tan. It had decorative metal stars on the wide leather that were reminiscent of old west sheriff badges. The collar they had was too big for him, so I asked them to order a smaller one for me. Then I asked them to hold off on the order until I brought my wife in to see what she tought.

The next day, I dragged Candy in to see the mastiff-sized collar and she loved it. We confirmed the order and then patiently waited for it to come in.

I got the call a few weeks later when Grandma was here (but before her stroke) and the two of us took the boys to Lake Ella to go for a walk and pick up Sheriff's new collar. It took a while to get used to seeing it on him, but it's starting to look like him. Whether we're at the dog park or the pet store or wherever, everyone loves it and thinks it fits him to a T.
