Monday is Chauncey's birthday. Last nite I dreamt my last dream of him (more on that some other time when it isn't so painful to share). And it's time to start writing again.
I finished a major part of the book the day he died and since then writing more has been difficult to consider.
Let me clarify that a little bit more — because it's quite synchronistic. I finished "Unscattering", my 100 page story that appears near the end of the book, on the afternoon of October 20th. My old man slept his last sleep later that evening.
I gave a handful of copies out to friends in December and now the feedback is trickling in and, fortunately, it's been very positive.
Now I just need to get back to it.
Work is hectic and there are bills to pay, but I believe this is going to be something really special once it's done.
So for now, dear friend, I'll get back to the muse.
