Not something you see on most tombstones these days. (2005) File Under: Abandoned Graveyard at The Greenway; Cemeteries; I Took This Photo! |
The headstone reads:
A. YANT
BORN
OCT 12, 1874
CONVERTED
MAY 1894
DIED
DEC 12, 1935
Not much of a mystery, but still pretty surprising. Sure, we're talking about conversion to Christianity, but conversion from what?
A quick turn on Google, yields an interesting result. Yant appears to be Celtic in origin.
So again, what spiritual persuasion was A. Yant originally? With this being the deep South, I can't help wonder if we're talking about conversion from one form of Christianity to another, say Catholic to Baptist.
Any thoughts from you, my dear friends and readers?
