Last week at the Georgia Aquarium, I thanked Candy (more than once) coming to Atlanta to hang out with me, Shannon and Alex. With her assistance in keeping an eye on MonkeyBoy Version 2.0 (Version 1.0, of course, was Nephew Bobby) at the aquarium and carrying various items for Alex and I in both her hands and the voluminous pockets of her trench/raincoat, she was invaluable.
I confessed to her that if we ever had children I would live in constant terror of her dying or otherwise leaving me for fear that I would have to deal with the offspring all on my own.
She laughed.
