The State! The State! The State Is On FIRE!

Sunday 05/13/2007 12:22 AM

We don't need no water, let the mother *$#%&!@ BURN!

Have you heard the news? Gridlock has hit both interstates (that would be 10 and 75) in North Florida. Your Link of the Day will help you understand why it took an hour for dinner if you went out tonight in Tallahassee or if you tried to get a room.

Oh, and be sure to check out the state forest fire map (updated daily).

Friday I thought the house was on fire until I stuck my head out the door. Gives me an opportunity to use one of the classic move quotes of all time (and I'm giving you the extended version):

“You smell that? Do you smell that? Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory.”
—Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore, played by Robert Duvall in Apocalypse Now

Speaking of intense movies. Did you like 28 Days Later? The sequel, 28 Weeks Later, is just as good. Bleak, but exceptionally cool.
