I'm going to Ohio this weekend. Things are going to get crazier every day until I leave Saturday morning. So this might be my last post until I get back next Wednesday.
It'll be a whirlwind visit, but I'm really pumped about seeing Shannon, Alex, Ray, Freya and Calvin for the first time since they've been living in Columbus (there was that one night a couple years ago when Shannon and I saw Wolfmother in the CMH, but that was just an overnighter so it doesn't really count).
Shannon and I have been e-mailing back and forth discussing shopping and restaurants and various things to do. Honestly, I'll just be happy to get out of town for a few days and spend time with my favorite sister.
I doubt any of you will be surprised to learn there's a concert involved with my trip. Monday night Shannon and I are going to see the Heartless Bastards. I fell in love with them when I heard their second album a few years ago. They were originally from Ohio and Shannon missed them a couple times in Columbus. Now the group is based out of Austin, but they'll be in Columbus Monday. They're not even the headliner, but that's OK with us, because my plane leaves before 6AM Tuesday morning.
