The Return of The Alex (Unmeaning Flattery)

At least one of you (hi, Jules!) reads my sister's blog. A few days ago Shannon wrote about her and Alex coming down here to Florida this weekend.

It's true. We are expecting them Sunday. Alex will be here for about a month again and I have him enrolled in Pottery Camp (his idea) for a week later this month. It's part of Camp “All That” at The Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science. Actually, his summer camp isn't going to be at the museum, but rather at their new auxillary summer camp campus (the Cornerstone Learning Community) at 2524 Hartsfield Rd, Tallahassee, FL, 32303.

So how do I feel about the little guy coming back to visit? I'm both thrilled and terrified, but I keep reminding myself that I did just fine last year, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

As for a welcoming prank... you may recall the alligator nest from last year. I had considered not cutting the grass for a few weeks and making a crop circle, complete with Photoshopped pictures taken from the backyard with a UFO hovering in the sky, but I never made the time to do it. Right now I'm leaning toward staging a crime scene with yellow tape and chalk outline, but I'm open to suggestions.

Nine Inch Nails "Ghosts I-IV"

36 instrumental tracks from Trent Reznor and company. Almost two hours of music. Good album. All over the map. You've got your Fear of Music song, you've got your Tones On Tail song, you've got a handful tracks that sound like outtakes from My Life In the Bush of Ghosts. Then, of course, you've got a whole bunch of sketches for (presumably) future Nine Inch Nails songs. Highly recommended — especially since you can download the whole shebang for five bucks.
