This is a remix I did of the song “On We March” from the soundtrack to the movie The Social Network. The original composers, Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails fame) and his sometime collaborator Atticus Ross, made the original multi-tracks available for anyone to do thier own versions of the song. They also sponsored a contest to give the creator of what they deemed the best remix a free trip to Los Angeles to meet them and see the movie.
I didn't win.
This is a five minute, mellow re-interpretation of their original instrumental piece. I created a variation of the original simple piano melody with a lackadaisical rhythm track I constructed and then built up an appropriate atmosphere for my revision. Once I had a four bar passage of the meat of it working the way I wanted, I disassembled it and sequenced the entire song.
It starts with quiet rain, so give it a few seconds and maybe turn up your volume a bit. Be patient... it builds and builds.
