Alex Is Seven Years Old!

Wednesday 04/12/2006 11:31 PM

My nephew Alex turned seven years old today.

Unfortunately, he didn't get his package yet, but it looks like he'll be getting it Friday. Sorry, Dad and Shannon — it got re-scheduled from its original delivery date of Thursday.

I don't think he'll be reading the blog tomorrow, so I'll go ahead and tell you what we (me, my dad, Candy, Argus and Sheriff) got him:

And this doesn't include the three Christmas presents he never got in December (long story) that are in the box as well all wrapped up in red paper.

Remember Anarchy in the UA? Well, my dad decided that we just had to get lots of styrofoam peanuts again, so who am I argue with the old man? I did give Shannon a heads up, though. She says he'll be opening his box of goodies in the garage this time around.

As you can tell from the list, we were going with a science theme this year. I knew Alex liked the Magnetix stuff (and double-checked with Shannon to be sure he hadn't just suddenly discovered that Magnetix are the most UNCOOL toys in the world). So once I got those, my dad and I did most of our remaining shopping at the gift shop at the Challenger Learning Center in downtown Tallahassee.

You may or may not remember the nice things I said to Alex on his birthday last year. You may or may not be wondering if I'm going to be able to top it this year. Well, the answer is no, I can't top it this year. Catch me in another 365 and we'll see if I can come up with anything.

BTW, did you know that David Letterman's birthday is April 12th as well?

Well, my dad left today. Come back soon, Dad, and drive safely on your journey. I love you.
